Here's this weeks pictures...
Getting good pictures at this age is nearly impossible! But luckily I remembered the trick to putting them in a big tin pot to slow their tendency to run off.
Sleepy (male) is now 15 lbs, one of the biggest of the litter! The last pup we had to be this big at 7 weeks, grew to be a full 80 lbs by 9 months old. Of the four pups still available, he is more on the chill side. Only named Sleepy because we started to name all the pups after a SnowWhite and the Seven Dwarfs theme. (Except the only 'white' pup was a boy). He like the rest, just wanted to get out of the tin, but not before giving me some great poses standing tall! Sleepy has one big white marking on his chest. He is STILL AVAILABLE.
Batman (male) is now 12 lbs. He was timid at first when I put him in the tin, but quickly realized he was not trapped. He is one of the smallest of the litter, but that does not hold him back from holding his own! He is ready to keep up with the best of them. Batman has a white marking on his two rear toes, just like his momma. He is STILL AVAILABLE.
Athena (Reserved and formally farm named Phoebe) is now 13 lbs. She sat still for a short time but was eager to have her turn back on the deck to run around with my kids. Anytime I pull the pups out of the kennel to clean it and put them in their old baby pool with a small animal fence around it, Athena is the only one who seems to get herself wedged in between the fence and the pool. She was also the quickest to make it out of this tin. She's a smart one, but I think growing up with the other dogs in her new home will be a great fit for her.
Shadow (male) is now 14 lbs. He wasn't really interested in putting his paws up on the side to stand tall, but during playtime on the deck he is ready to go! Though while playing he frequently 'checks in'. Shadow has a white marking on his chest just like his daddy and he is STILL AVAILABLE.
Charlie (Reserved and formally farm named Rocky) is now the one of the biggest of the litter at 15 lbs. He continues to be one of the most chill of the litter and sat so nice and still for me to take his picture. Though when he went to jump out (as all the pups did), he only made it half way. Ha!
Oliver has been reserved and is now called Cash!! This week he received a new red collar as his yellow one broke off. Cash is now 13 lbs, the second to smallest of the litter. He too sat so nice and still for me to take his picture. He is very playful, yet still timid enough to be led.
Midnight (male) is now 14 lbs. He is ready to go, yet loves to be held. As I hold them on my lap during nail clipping time, he holds the most still of all the pups. When he plays, he's more focused on what's going out as far as the leash will reach. Though not without frequent 'check in's'. Midnight has no markings on chest or toes and he is STILL AVAILABLE.
Colt has been reserved and is new name is Charlie! Charlie is now 14 lbs.
The funny thing about this is that our foster daughter REALLY wanted his farm name to be Charlie, but then decided on Colt when Rocky (in the green collar) was the first to be reserved and named Charlie. Looks like he was meant to be a Charlie after all and our foster daughter knew it!
I had a tricky time getting him to look at me as he was so focused on getting out! This is the way he plays too. Similar to Midnight, both these pups are more focused outward and all the things yet to be explored.
This week we also introduced the crate to their space! If you've sent me your reservation, I've likely sent you the article on crate training. It is not the only way to house train, but it's the way we recommend! Because this crate is here just for exposures sake, I think I am going to have to get a smaller crate. This one is overpowering their space!
