Three Weeks Old

They are now walking!
I didn't get to take that great of pictures this time because all I had was my iPhone camera. I will spare you the bad shots.

Pups have gotten their first deworming medicine and are getting ready to start their first meal of solid food.

We had a white day after Christmas!
In fact our power went off twice during the afterward of the storm.  Nine from my family were in town and half of them staying at our house.  We all, puppies and dogs included, got to displace ourselves at my husband's parents house till the electric crews could restore our power.  What fun!

Two Weeks Old

Little Emily and Eden getting fat and staying happy next to mama Java all the time.

A few milestones:
Today Emily's eyes began to open  (right).
Their nails are now long and sharp enough to get their first nail clipping!
Since they are two weeks old tomorrow they will begin the first of the deworming medicine.
They should be starting to try to stand soon!  I will try to get some first steps posted when they happen.

These girls have a litter registration number now so when they come home they will be ready to be registered with ease.  Please visit AKC here to see our ad in the classifieds!

Eight Weeks Old

All puppies are reserved!

Here are some more pictures of the puppies in the pool.  We use to have 'puppy play time' only in the pool till they got big enough to get out.  Then after they were vaccinated they were allowed to run in the yard.  This is how we introduced them to playing in water and swimming.  When we first put them in they immediately got out but Macie was the first to climb back in the pool to play in the water!  Then her brothers followed quickly behind her.  Then the rest of the time it was back an forth in and out of the water in between chasing each other and making new discoveries in the yard.

This is my brother and two of his three kids.  We wanted to see how my blind nephew (adopted from Africa) reacted to Zane.  He's never been sure about Choco and Java, and he was pretty unsure with mini Choco licking him and climbing all over the place.  It was probably over stimulation... these pups have a lot of energy...get ready!

This is him holding out a piece of dog food for Zane.

New puppy parents please be watching for an email today sometime that will have specifics on picking up your puppy on Saturday!

Seven Weeks Old

Two have been reserved and we have two left!

Pups had their first round of vaccinations earlier this week and will be turning 7 weeks old tomorrow.  They will be needing their second round of shots when they go home in a couple weeks.  So go ahead and make those appointments for sometime between July 2nd and 4th.  They will need to see a veterinarian anyway within 3 days to make sure you are covered under our Health Guarantee.

So far they have been introduced to the leash, a little water the kiddie pool, and the crate.  This week we plan to fill the pool up enough to let them try swimming!  Here's a few shots of them in our home learning to come when called and to fetch.  Most all of the pups will have to work more on come when called but here are a few pictures to highlight what each one did for this activity.
(By the way, this early training I just teach them that when they come to me they get a snack.  A snack is just a piece of their normal food.  They don't need special treats to learn.  Also make sure they have full bellies so they don't have to concentrate of feeding)

Eli wasn't that interested in chasing the ball.  He is our explorer pup.  He was sniffing around seeing what new territory he could discover!  I didn't get as many pictures of him simply because he was everywhere! These pictures are just him watching the ball roll away.  Then when it would stop he'd swiftly turn and find something else that looked interesting.

Macie wasn't that interested in the ball either she did the same thing Jack-Jack did, just watch it till it stopped then began running all around the house.  Till she found one of my girls new toy puppies.   Nothing else was interesting after that!  Not even food.

Jack-Jack did the same thing that Macie and Eli did with the ball.  But you probably won't have much trouble getting him to come when called!  I use a piece of their regular food to do this and make sure that they have full bellies before trying to train them to come.  He just seemed to want the food most of the time!    Then he discovered our 4 month old foster baby and wanted to climb up in his bouncy seat with him and his toys.

Fetch may be Zane's middle name!  His siblings may have more training to do as far as Fetch goes.  But Zane chased the ball all around pushing it with his little paws, then got it still enough to wrap his little snout around it and brought it right back to me!  He did this several times.

Five Weeks Old

They are now receiving three square meals a day.  Mama nurses them in short intervals but because they now have teeth she doesn't nurse for long simply because it's uncomfortable.  So now they are most happy to see me

Choco (Pronounced Chaco) takes an interest in being playful with his pups whenever they come outside.

My brother and his family is staying with us for a while.  All the kids are being a big help.

Here's the beloved Macie (Zoe), now 7.5 lbs.  She is the only female from this litter.
Here's a few shots of her just to show how big they are getting!

Four Weeks Old

We spend most of Saturday making the pups living area a bit larger and easier to clean.  They love it now and are already learning to eliminate in the corner of their pin instead of their bed and play place.  This should make it easier house training later.  We also gave their 2nd dose of wormer over the weekend and clipped their nails again.

The pups are also now old enough to be receiving a combination of solid food and mama's milk.  And mama no longer lays down to feed but stands up while her pups dance around getting their milk.

Getting their solid food.

Every day we try to have puppy play time.  One, so the pups will get some playful attention and two, so they can get use to kids playing with them.  My girls LOVE this time!
