Saying Goodbye

Living in the middle of town has it's draw backs.  Java had been acting strange and had been getting out of our fenced backyard frequently.  Then the last night we weren't paying close enough attention when she got out one last time.  

We never found her, but learned that she'd been hit by a car that night. 

We will never forget her.

Six Weeks Old

Pups are now receiving all dog food somewhat softened.  By next week they should be eating completely solid food.  They are currently on Purina One Large Breed Puppy food.
Puppy playtime happens everyday several times a day!  They have been introduced to all surfaces normal dogs are likely to be exposed to (carpet, grass, concrete, rocks, etc.)
Our oldest female is the most energetic of the litter and LOVES to explore.  She looks and acts SO much like her father (our Choco).

Five Weeks Old

Our oldest female is the only one we have left.   We began introducing to different surfaces and the first was tile.  She wasn't too sure about it when I first set her down but she was soon wanting to explore the entire room.  

Four Weeks Old

The pups have now moved to their bigger pin and have been getting solid food but still nursing.  In this picture I had not processed their food fine enough so they are not too sure about how to eat it.  It's always so sweet watching their reactions to their first solid food as they step in it and are more interested in licking it off each other than from the bowl.
